Baz Luhrmann (born 1962) is an Australian film director, born in New South Wales.

He graduated from NIDA in 1988 and has directed the following films:

He has also directed the opera La Bohème. He is also working on a biographical film of Alexander the Great, tentatively starring DiCaprio and Kidman.

Baz Luhrmann has listed Bollywood films as a major influence on his work, especially Moulin Rouge!.

Luhrman is also credited with a 1999 UK number one single entitled Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen).
