Motherfucker (also contracted form: mofo and muthafucka) is a common insult in the English language, related to the widely condemned biological and cultural incest taboo. The term is popular in hip hop culture.

In recent years, "motherfucker" is increasingly being used to describe inanimate objects, such as in the song "Fire Water Burn" by the Bloodhound Gang:

In spite of overuse, the term is widely considered highly insulting when used in earnest.
