Dame Silvia Cartwright (born November 7, 1943) is New Zealand's second female Governor General, and as the Queen's representative, lives in Government House in the capital city of Wellington.
In 1989, she became the first female Chief District Court Judge and in 1993, she was the first woman to be appointed to the High Court.
She is married to Peter Cartwright.
